Mrs. Roberts is the Supervisor of Instrumental Music for the Hannibal Public School District. She is in charge of our Beginning Band Program and is our woodwind specialist.
I direct the Hannibal High School Concert Band, Pirate Pride Marching Band and the Hannibal Jazz Program. I am also the percussion coordinator for our district.I grew up in Barnhart, Missouri and began playing saxophone in 6th grade beginning band. When I got to high school I began taking drum and percussion lessons from Richard McCreary, who was one of the best drummers on the St. Louis screne. I have been playing drums and percussion ever since.I believe in having high expectations of myself and of my students. I believe the goal of music education is to allow a student to experience success within a musical environment and to learn positive character traits well past the classroom.
I direct the 7th and 8th grade bands and am brass coordinator for the Hannibal district and also conduct the Symphonic Band at Quincy University. I grew up in Chicago and began the horn in 9th grade. I am committed to teaching young people the joy of music through performance and will continue being a band director until the day comes when I have no more to offer. I have my masters in education, have been teaching for 27 years (8 years off in between "careers"), and have pledged never to sell short any kid who has a sincere interest in succeeding and will always look first for the good in every human being whom I meet.
